The Virginia Reign FC coaching staff is comprised of coaches from a variety of backgrounds.  From nationally licensed coaches to former collegiate and professional soccer players our coaches are dedicated to putting player development at the forefront of your child and our clubs success.

Club Philosophy

The mission of Virginia Reign FC is to provide a positive and high quality environment for players of all levels across Williamsburg, the Peninsula and all of Hampton Roads

Playing Levels

The Virginia Reign FC Girls Travel Program will provide teams in areas/communities across the Williamsburg/Peninsula geographies in 2024/25. The top players in each age group across all communities will come together to make up the ECNL RL teams at the U11-U19 age groups. These teams will participate in the ECNL Regional League. For the next level of players at the U11-U19 age groups - we will combine the next best players. These teams will play in the Virginia NPL. These teams will be placed in divisions appropriate for their development regardless of the team name.
 

Pre-Elite Clubs Regional League (Pre-ECNL RL) - U11-U12

The Pre-ECNL RL program at Virginia Reign FC is designed for the Elite U11 and U12 Girls who have a strong desire and commitment to reach the highest levels of play. The Pre-ECNL RL pathway helps prepare our players to go on to compete in the ECNL RL programs by providing a greater frequency of practices and games, a higher level of competition, individualized training and learning plans. All Reign FC Pre-ECNL RL teams will train 3 times per week with their team. The goal of the Virginia Reign FC is to provide a meaningful competition environment for the Club’s U11-19 travel players.

Elite Clubs Regional League (ECNL RL) - U13-U19 

Virginia Reign FC Elite level teams in U13-U19 participate in the ECNL Regional League. Virginia Reign FC provides these players with the elite training and competition needed to prepare them for success.The ECNL Regional League Travel teams consist of the top players in a particular age group. The teams will play play matches in the ECNL Regional League which is the top league in Virginia made up of the top clubs throughout the region, several prestigious tournaments along the east coast, and in Virginia State Cup competitions. All Reign FC ECNL RL teams will train 3 times per week with their team. The goal of the Virginia Reign FC is to provide a meaningful competition environment for the Club’s U11-19 travel players.

Virginia National Premier League (NPL) U11-U19

NPL Travel teams will play in a competitive environment just below the Elite level.  The NPL provides exceptional regional competition from Virginia Beach, Richmond and all areas in between.  All NPL teams (U11-U19) teams train at least three times per week, and training is often integrated between other teams to allow for constant observation and evaluation of all players in the age group pool. The goal of the Virginia Reign FC Club is to provide a meaningful competition environment for the Club’s U11 – U19 travel players through a customized schedule of League,  Tournament and competitive Friendly matches. These teams will be primarily community based and practice/game locations will be dictated by the rosters and coaching staff assigned to these teams.  It is the goal that teams are placed in the highest level of NPL possible.

Virginia National Premier League (NPL) / Richmond ADSL / Tidewater Advanced (TASL)- FOR U9/10

All U9 and U10 Girls teams will participate in the ADSL, NPL or TASL leagues. These leagues provide the appropriate levels of play while limiting travel distances at the youngest ages.   All U9 teams will train two times per week, While the U10 will train 3 times a week in the Fall and Spring seasons. These U9 and U10 teams will be primarily community based and practice/game locations will be dictated by the rosters and coaching staff assigned to these teams.  At these youngest ages - it is our goal to limit travel times between practices and games so the focus can be on the development on the field.

Tournaments:

The Club’s Technical Staff will look at the needs of each team and the players on that team, and select tournaments that will help the players achieve their developmental and college soccer goals. Tournament schedules will be custom designed for each team to give competitive and meaningful games, and an environment in which they can best showcase their talents.

Teams will participate in 2 – 6 Events.  These events will be State, Regional and National level tournaments; # of tournaments and the level of tournaments are commensurate with the team level selected to

State Cup Competitions:

***Team selection into the State Cups will be reviewed by the clubs directors and participation will be based on a team to team basis.
